Your knowledge

You are an expert in employment law. You are proud of your knowledge and enjoy sharing your expertise and developing it.

You have a commitment to continuous professional development and are keen to maintain up to date understanding of employment law and wider HR issues and topics.

You know how to manage people and deal with all challenges relating to managing people quickly and effectively.

Your skills and attributes

You can easily empathise with a client’s problem, understand their personal connection to it and tailor advice accordingly.

You are determined, ambitious, love the sense of fulfilling your potential and being in control of your own destiny.

You have a down-to-earth, practical, approach.

You put people at ease and can engage with them freely.

You enjoy the challenge of looking for solutions to problems.

You take a pride in your integrity in business.


You are at least MCIPD qualified.

We may consider applications from those with significant and wide-ranging HR experience at a senior level but would like a commitment to seeking CIPD accreditation as we find clients are reassured by this.


You have several years general HR experience including advising at senior level.

At least some of this must be in the private sector.

You must have plenty of experience of giving hands-on practical advice to managers on handling HR issues and managing staff effectively. If you’ve been working solely or mostly in an HR service centre or call centre environment or at a distance from your client base, you’re probably not what we’re looking for.

You must have a wide experience of different HR issues which is why we are looking mainly for a generalist background.


You are prepared to put in some hard work and reap the benefits.

You can commit to a total of no less than 25 hours a week during office hours.

You can work from home or are prepared to lease office space.

You can drive or can travel widely and easily within your local area.
